On this occasion, the call for papers is open exclusively to Colombian universities and companies based in Colombia. In our next edition of this Conference the call for papers will be opened to all individuals and institutions working on district energy around the world.

The Project District Energy in Colombia, the Colombian Association of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration – ACAIRE and its Center for Research and Development of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration – CIDARE invite the academic and professional community interested in knowledge, development and implementation of thermal districts, to present their work at the Third International Conference of District Energy: an environmental and sustainable development alternative, no registration or publication costs.

Participants should present a summary, written in Spanish, with a maximum of 250 words, on topics related to district energy such as the following:

  • Design, installation, operation and control of district energy systems
  • Use of renewable or residual energy sources in district energy systems
  • Thermal energy storage for district energy
  • Use of natural or low environmental impact refrigerants district energy systems
  • Contribution of district energy to sustainable cities: Energy and environmental indicators.
  • Potential for energy maps to identify opportunities for district energy systems

The abstract should clearly and concisely describe the objective of the work, methodology, main findings and relevant conclusions. In addition to the above, include the title of the work, the name and affiliation of all authors, and three to five keywords. A maximum of six authors per work will be accepted.

 The abstract must be sent as a pdf file using the template established for this conference, through the EasyChair platform.

Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to send the following documents:

  • Article for review: maximum ten pages, including bibliographic references, and written in the template that will be provided here.
  • Presentation: 15 minutes plus 5 minutes of questions. It should be elaborated in the template that will be provided here.

The documents must be reviewed and approved by the Scientific Committee before being included in the final program.

Acceptance requirements

The work must be within the theme of the Conference, be original, have not been previously published and be free of commercialization.

 Abstracts and articles must be written in Spanish.

Paper evaluation criteria

  •  Title: agreement of the title with the content of the work.
  • Content quality: quality of writing, clear and logical organization of ideas, and evidence to support the conclusions.
  •  Relevance of the work presented for practical applications or possible future research; innovation, and creativity.
  •  Robustness of the conclusions.
  •  Relevance of the references provided.

Papers that have been accepted and presented will be published in the proceedings of the International Conference of District Energy (publication with assigned ISSN). In addition, the best papers will be awarded.
